I love this screen. You may never see it again. Every Co CDR/1SG and above in the DIV needs one for Operations Pathways and the field. So much easier to deploy than a monitor. They do kind of take up a little more space, but that's worth it. Super clear projection as a monitor, not as great as a stand-alone projector, but in a small setting, in a dark space, could work really well. I'll do some more testing as a projector, and let you know what I think. PS Every Co CDR and 1SG might be a stretch, but outfitting BN HQs, and BCT HQs with sets for the field/deployments would be clutch. Much easier to deploy.
Hi, I just received my SPUD and, let's be honest, it's pretty freaking amazing. Part of the joy behind backing smaller developers and inventors is that not only can you get an idea for the vision behind a product, but they share their passion for the product before it ever reaches you. I'm sure there are a lot of backers that sent unhappy emails about product delays, but for me - I always appreciated the attention to detail and how much you cared about the product because that meant you also cared about me and how your product would eventually support my life. There is always a risk in backing a new product that it's not going to work out as intended, and you absolutely could have shipped out what you had in 2017 and then improved the lenses and shroud for when you were ready for public release, but you didn't. You clearly appreciated our initial support to help you achieve your goal, and sure I would have liked to get it sooner but I appreciate that it was more important to you to get it "right" instead of "fast."
Finally got it!
You made it happen :)) and it's as cool as I thought it would be way back when.
Congrats :)
We've had the opportunity to use the Splay display in our training sessions and it has been a game-changer. We used it in a small group training with parents of young adults with Down syndrome and it allowed us to seamlessly demo our website and apps from different devices. The battery lasted, setup was easy, and switching devices was quick and glitch-free. We also used it in a digital skills training for veterans. The Splay made it possible for them to follow along on their own devices while also seeing what our trainers were doing. It was respectful, efficient, and worked seamlessly. Our trainers have suggested a strap for easier transport, but overall, we're thrilled with the Splay and look forward to using it in future sessions.
